Christmas Day Night

The last few years we have been going to my parent's house on Christmas night and doing gifts with them.  I prolongs the fun.  Before we would just go home, sit around and be kind-of depressed that Christmas was over.  Now we do dinner, open gifts, and watch a movie or play games.  This year we got snowed in so we spent the night.  I suspect that we could have made it home but Casey wanted to go hunting with my brother-in-law the next morning.  I'm onto him.

Only Jess was missing, who was at work.  Hudson's Woody stood in as Julie's date for the night.

Christmas Day

Our Christmas day somehow manages to be eventful but not hectic.  I love it!  Hudson woke up and played with his gifts from Santa, which included a basketball goal, Woody doll, and table and chairs for his playroom (which is still in the works).  He ran straight for a book that he always wants to check out at the library but Santa brought for him to keep.  Do we have a little nerd or what?  Loves to  read... takes after his mama.
Casey and I did presents for each other in the morning as well.  He surprised me with a Kindle and lots of books on gardening.  I was so excited.  Told you Hud takes after me in the nerd department.
For lunch we always go to my other grandmother's house (mom's mom).
More craziness with a packed house and a big family (my mom is one of seven kids after all).  The best surprise was the snow!

Christmas Eve

The posts on the Christmas holidays continues with Christmas Eve!  For dinner we always go to my grandmother's (my dad's mom) house.
I have a big family.  We are usually packed into the house like sardines.  The chaos is fun to me.  It's all I know.
There was momentary drama that night.  Someone wrecked and ran off of the road in front of my grandmother's house.  The men went out to help change their tire, thus Casey was MIA most of the time and absent from most pictures.

Wood Family Christmas

This Christmas started out on a somber note.  Casey's grandmother got unexpectedly ill and passed away about a week before Christmas.  She will be greatly missed!  Things were a little bit different for this year's Christmas celebration with a change of location to our house on Christmas Eve Eve.  We ate turkey and all of the fixins' and opened gifts.  You know.  The typical Christmas stuff.
Hudson got to play with Tyler and Ayden, which he always loves to do.  They are so good with him even though they are older.  What is it about kids?  They always love other kids.  Our kid is like that anyway.

Suprise Date

We all know how busy the holidays are.  So guess who is behind on their blog posts?  We are going back to last Wednesday.  Casey told me he was taking me out for a date and to be ready at 5 pm.
We went to Stone Mountain Park for their Christmas extravaganza that they had going on.  We walked around their village and did a little shopping (mostly for candy), went to eat at a restaurant they have, rode the train around the mountain looking at lights, and watched the Polar Express 4D Experience.  And tried to stay warm.  It was freezing.
On a side note I was a little too excited when I saw Sheree from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.  I never spot celebrities (and I use the term celebrity loosely)!  She ate in the same restaurant as we did.  It may have been the highlight of the night for me.  Kidding.  But only a little.

12 Years

Twelve years ago from December 6th Casey and I had our first date!  We were just spring chickens back then.  It's hard to remember a time B.C. (before Casey).  As a surprise (and believe me when I say it was a surprise) Casey brought these home for me:
And look what else we got:
Another Wood baby is on the way!  We went to the doctor on our "anniversary" and found out the new little one is due on July 19th.  We are super excited!  No sickness yet,  just a whole lot of exhaustion.  It makes me thankful that Hud is still on the two naps a day plan.  It allows for a nap for me as well.

We did some Christmas shopping and ate dinner at Genghis Grill where you get to assemble your own food.  You pick your meat, what spices go on the meat, your veggies, your sauce and your starch.  We decided that I'm the better cook... assembler?... food picker?  By we, I mean me.
