Eatin' & Sleepin'

At Hud's 4 month check we got the go ahead on feeding him rice cereal. We tried it out and were surprised (although he is such an eater I guess we shouldn't have been) to find that he loved it. In fact, by day two he was leaning forward trying to go at the spoon because we weren't getting it to him fast enough! He makes such a mess. Poor chub gets cereal lodged up under his neck roll (anyone know the neck equivalent for "cankle"?) and it dries under there only to be found hours later. On the up side he has FINALLY been sleeping through the nights since we started feeding him the cereal! Yay!!! If I would have known that was all it was going to take I would have started feeding him cereal at 2 weeks old like a little birdie I know did. I'm not naming names. You know who you are.

Feet Fun

How are babies so flexible? Hudson has discovered his feet and loves to put them in his mouth (of course). We were using his new big boy attachment on his stroller and he even figured out how to get his foot underneath the bar and up to his mouth.

Since he turned 4 months we finally got to break out the exersaucer that has sat abandoned in our bonus room for the past several months. There are so many toys attached to it I don't think he knows where to look. Once he gets his bearings and figures out what is going on I think he will love it (and so will we...gotta love anything that allows us to get stuff done!).

The Beach

We took Hud on his first trip to the beach this past week. I was honestly very worried as to how he would do. Its a long drive to Ormond Beach (6 hours when Casey and I make the trip alone, 10 hours with 2 babies in tow for the record) so the actual ride down there was my first big concern. As is normally the case, Hud proved me wrong and did an awesome job on the ride down. In fact we had a great week. For the most part he hardly made a peep at any of the restaurants we ate at, he loved the pool and was pretty go-with-the-flow the whole week. I have to say a huge thanks to his Papa and Lolly (my parents) who not only let us shack up with them but also stayed inside most of the time when it was nap time so Casey and I could enjoy some much needed r & r. A pretty big group of us went (around 20) to the same place that we have gone for years and that I used to go to as a kid. I'm calling it a huge success over all and a great time. Much fun was had by all.

New Cousin!

This weekend Hudson met his new cousin/future bff, Cole. I can't even remember Hudson being so small. I was worried that Hud was going to roll over and smother Cole! He is a doll...he grunts instead of crying and it was cracking us up. I can't wait to see the boys grow up and get to the age where they can really play together. I know that Hudson is going to enjoy having a cousin so close to his age to play with.

I obviously forgot how to hold a baby who can't
support his own head.
