Easter 2012

A few pictures from Easter morning at our house:
Oh how difficult to get everyone smiling at the camera at one time.

After church we were off to my grandmother's house for lunch and an egg hunt.
Loving on his sister... sometimes a little too much.

Christmas With Two

Christmas sure are a whole lot different with two kids.  Things are definitely more hectic dragging baby gear around wherever we go, getting two down for naps, etc.  Throw in some teething and you have some fun times!  It's all worth it and Christmas morning just gets more and more fun.  Casey and I used to look forward to doing gifts for ourselves but now we can't wait to see how Hudson will react to what he gets.  He kept trying to put his stocking on his foot.  Crazy boy.
After we do Christmas morning at our house we head over to my Granny's house for lunch and then dinner at my parent's house.
Merry Christmas!

The Christmas Play

We don't do any kind of a Christmas Play at our church so Hudson got to be a part of my family's church's Christmas program this year.  My sisters and two of my cousins directed it.  Hudson has been going to weekly practices and singing some of the songs from the program for weeks now.  Can you spot our little cow?
He clapped for himself after every song.  At the end he said "I did a good job!!!!"  At least we won't have to worry about his self confidence.
This little thing got passed around the church like the flu and did awesome despite missing her nap.

Pre-Christmas Day Events

As always, Christmas is a busy time here at the Wood house.  We try to accomplish as many fun holiday things as we can even if it means riding around in the pouring rain to look at Christmas lights with a crying baby in the car.

Hudson had his Christmas party at school where we decorated cookies and they did a book exchange.  We feel so blessed that he is part of such a wonderful school with the sweetest teachers.
I just had to throw this picture in randomly.  It was the Sunday before Christmas.  We did go to church on Christmas Eve but of course, were running out the door to get there on time and didn't get pictures.
On Christmas Eve morning Casey and I gave the kids a wagon.  We did a little test drive through the living room.
Casey's family came over for lunch and presents on Christmas eve.
Then after lunch and church, we were on to my Nanny's house.
After putting the kids to bed we collapsed onto the couch and made it through "It's a Wonderful Life," which is becoming our Christmas Eve tradition.

DYI Snow Globes

We are pressing on doing one Christmas activity per day and today we made a Christmas craft.  Casey and I were at Anthropologie this past weekend on a Christmas shopping date night and Casey found these snow globes (Hudson calls them snow gloves.  He also calls Christmas trees Christmas treats.).
He told me I should make them.  I had already seen them on Pintrest and decided to give it a go.  I had a little help from my assistant.
He mostly dumped glitter in the floor.
Not totally the same but not too shabby either.  I just used mason jars, some trees that I found at Hobby Lobby, glitter, and styrofoam.  Very easy but very messy.  I'm still finding glitter.

Christmas Cookies

Each day Hudson has been drawing out a Christmas activity to do.  And by each day, I mean we've done it twice.  We seem to be pretty busy lately.  This past week he drew "make Christmas cookies" out of our basket.
He is a good, but messy little helper.  He can work a sifter like nobody's business.
As you can see by the outfit change, it took a couple of days to complete our project.  Told you we have been busy.
It was worth the wait.  He has a new love of gingerbread cookies.

Murphy

Little Murphy has been showing up around our house for the first time this year.  The other day he was reading a book in Hudson's room.
Then he was riding our rooster.
We definitely get a bigger kick out of this than Hudson does.
Yesterday Murphy was eating some cereal on our kitchen table with Mr. Potato Head but Chloe got up there, ate the cereal and knocked Murphy over.  Guess we know one dog who is going on the naughty list.

Thanksgiving Events

Casey and I had our first taste of school plays the week before Thanksgiving.  And yes, the girl below Hudson did cry the entire time in case you were wondering.  It was hilarious even though they just sang a few songs.  Our little Hud was so cute in his little Indian headband and t-shirt.

Thanksgiving day was spent with lots of food and family and full bellies.
