Hockey Game

Super Bowl weekend we went another sport route and took the kids to a hockey game.
We have taken Hudson before but he was very young and didn't have much intrest.  This time Cole and company came with us along with "Popo".
Hockey has it's newest fan in Hudson.  He sat almost the entire time and stared.  He kept talking about "the boys playing ball down there on the ice."  He was especially obsessed with the zambonie.  He was on the edge of his seat.
Fin liked it as well.

"MM"

As it sometimes happens, I've gotten a little behind on the blogging.  I've had a busy week of projects (which you will get to hear more about later) so many things have been put on the back-burner.

Last week Hud had a couple of play dates, one of which was with an old friend from high school (elementary school actually), and her daughter "MM."  MM is only 2 months older than my little spud so we thought it was high time they met.
I promise they were happier and got along better than this picture portrays.

We were at MM's grandparent's house for the morning.  We visited their place back before Christmas to get our greenery for the season.  The kids fed the cows and goats, saw the chickens, played on the swing set, road on the golf cart, and had a picnic lunch.  In other words, Hudson was in heaven.
Remember this guy?
Turns out he has a pretty loud bellow that scares the kids.  And he was hogging the food.  Rascal.

For the next few days after, Hudson would randomly look up at me and say "wanna go play with Mary Margaret."  She left quite the impression.  Well, at least her toys did.  She had a little kid-sized battery-operated four wheeler.  One time he followed up his request to see her with "wanna ride four wheeler."  So you see where his priorities are.  At least we don't have to worry about girls quite yet.

GA Aquarium

This morning we decided to take Hudson to the aquarium.  He has been a little under the weather but we had discount tickets and thought it would be better than staying indoors with an ill toddler.  I told Hudson "we are going to see the fish today!"  He said "water.  Bass Pro."  Um no, not really.  But I think that's a little telling.
His favorite exhibits were the interactive things like petting the rays and sharks and going down the slide with Casey.
Maybe one of the most frustrating things was hauling around a giant stroller in a crowd.  If we had it to do over I would wait until Hudson was older and could be trusted to walk everywhere.
The final verdict:  ok fun.... Hud likes the zoo better.

INK

Yesterday Hudson and I went to INK (Interactive Neighborhood for Kids) in Gainesville with some friends.  He had tons of fun playing, eating lunch, and peeing on himself moments after we walked out of the bathroom (go figure).
He played the piano, drums, and shook bells in the music room...
played with the animals at the "vet"...
played in the police car (again, a blur)...
watched the train...
and obsessed over this talking chicken...
We love finding new places to visit, especially in the wintertime when we both go a little crazy being trapped indoors.  And I really love when that place wears him out so much that he falls asleep on the way home!

Catch Air

Per a friend's recommendation, I took Hudson to Catch Air today.  It's an indoor play area that has huge blow-up slides, jumpers, ball pits, giant blocks, light-up floors, things to climb on and through, etc, etc.  It was pretty awesome.
Hudson had a field day.  I think he literally would have stayed there for the rest of the afternoon.
He got especially attached to this guy:
It was a rubber air-filled horse.  I think you are supposed to sit on it and hop up and down.  He took to dragging it around everywhere he went.

This child is such a nut.  He cracks me up daily.

Whatdaya Have?

Today we took Hudson to his first trip to the Varsity.  I generally think that it is a grease hole but I had just drug (dragged? I never know) the boys through Lenox mall and felt they needed a treat.  I still made Hudson eat some of his healthy food before he had fries and an f.o. (that's frosted orange to you Atl newbies).
He loved it and my chocolate shake that is dribbled all over his bib.
