I Love Lamp

We bought these lovelies for super cheep back when we first got married.
I've never loved them.  In fact, the more I look at this picture I'm realizing the actual hidiousness of them.  They have made it through two moves and are so beat-up on the edges.  I've finally had enough and in an attempt to be frugal, I decided to tackle this project myself.
What a difference a little paint makes!

On the List

I usually don't have much of a chance to get online.  Other than to throw up a little blog or two.  Or order a pair of shoes.  Or two.  If I have an evening of web-surfing I get into too much trouble.  I start finding projects I want to do.  Casey is going to kill me.
Such organization sends my heart a flutter.  I'm a freak.  I've come to terms.

Stenciling a wall?  What a cool idea!  I could totally do this!

I'm loving all of the projects at this website, including this easy wall display tutorial.

And I am dying for this:
How adorable would this be in our kitchen?  I realize it's a tad girly but boys cook too, right?  Hudson can "cook" while I am instead of dragging out pots and pans like he does now.
I die.
I've shown this to Casey and tried to convince him to tackle it.  It's not going over very well.  I think he's still worn out from the last project at threw at him.

Then I start getting very Martha Stewart-y (Stewart-ish?) and want to do stuff like make my own cleaners.

I'm putting it all on the list.  And getting off-line now before I find something else I want to do.

Snowed In

In theory I love a good snow day.  Sitting by the fire, getting cozy on the couch reading, hanging out with the family.  Reality is always a little bit different.  It's actually trying to think of things to do to keep my stir-crazy boys busy.
A couple of hours into day one Casey had to head out to "check out the roads".  This is how tired he gets of hanging around the house with little to do.  Hud has been through every toy, book, and game that he has at least 3 or 4 times.  I've broken out new recipes and started baking snacks (Which is super healthy and got rave reviews.  When Hudson has a bite and says "ummm cookie" and it's not even a cookie, I know I've hit the jackpot).
Whew.  I need a nap.

Get In It

Hudson's obsession this past week was getting in stuff.  One morning he pulled this baking pan out, said "get in it" and sat in it.  Just sat there.
That same afternoon he climbed into Chloe's crate that she sleeps in and closed the door.  Then he laid down and started sucking his thumb.
What kind of a child are we raising?  Sometimes we just let him do stuff because we think it's funny.  Like how he thinks a horse goes "hee haw!"  I could correct him and tell him that's how a donkey goes.  But I don't.  It's just too funny.
