A New Bed

The last week has been a rough one here at the Wood household.  One of the reasons being that Hudson has made the transition from crib to bed.  We were working on getting his new room ready anyway but when he decided to start climbing out of his crib, it moved the process along for us.  He would start screaming bloody murder when we would lay him down to go to sleep and as soon as we would leave the room he would climb right out of his crib, open his bedroom door and run after us.  It was giving me an ulcer.  Sitting in his room for 45 minutes until he finally calms down is not my idea of a fun night.  It makes for tense times around here.

After just one day of getting used to his new bed (I'm not gonna lie... Monday was rough) he was cured.  Let's hope so anyway.  He still seems to dread going to bed for some reason.  Maybe that will go away with time too.
 More room pictures to come.

Peonies: An Update

Remember when Casey got me these peony bushes because they are my favorites?  They totally died this winter.  Like shriveled up, dead to the ground, died.  We thought they were lost forever.  Now look at them!
Yay!  They look to be set to bloom the week we are gone on vacation.  Just my luck.

Easter 2011

I wanted to title this post "who is this person and what happened to my child?"  Oh yes, the terrible twos have arrived at the Wood household.  But more on that another day.
I don't think I built Easter up enough for Hudson because he was pretty much over his basket of goodies within 3-4 minutes.  His excitement was minimal.
What did he go for first?  The "snack" and the book, of course.
After church it was on to my grandmother's house for lunch and an egg hunt.
The egg hunting was much more fun than last year.  This year he actually went around on his own, collecting eggs and putting them in his basket.
What a cutie.
Showing Nanny his goodies.
Of course he and Cole had to do their sorting together.  This year Hudson kept his hands to himself and concentrated on his own candy.

2 Year Pictures

Have you seen Hudson's pictures that he had taken recently?
Camille, who also took our family pictures for our Christmas card, did them.  We love her work!  She is the best and so creative and fun to work with.  She had just gotten a bunny to use for Easter pictures and let us borrow it for some of his pictures.  Hudson loved it!  As many animals seem to react to Hud, it didn't seem to warm up to his over-excitement very well.
He still asks about it and want to know where the bunny rabbit is.

You can see more pictures here at Camille's blog.

"MM"

As it sometimes happens, I've gotten a little behind on the blogging.  I've had a busy week of projects (which you will get to hear more about later) so many things have been put on the back-burner.

Last week Hud had a couple of play dates, one of which was with an old friend from high school (elementary school actually), and her daughter "MM."  MM is only 2 months older than my little spud so we thought it was high time they met.
I promise they were happier and got along better than this picture portrays.

We were at MM's grandparent's house for the morning.  We visited their place back before Christmas to get our greenery for the season.  The kids fed the cows and goats, saw the chickens, played on the swing set, road on the golf cart, and had a picnic lunch.  In other words, Hudson was in heaven.
Remember this guy?
Turns out he has a pretty loud bellow that scares the kids.  And he was hogging the food.  Rascal.

For the next few days after, Hudson would randomly look up at me and say "wanna go play with Mary Margaret."  She left quite the impression.  Well, at least her toys did.  She had a little kid-sized battery-operated four wheeler.  One time he followed up his request to see her with "wanna ride four wheeler."  So you see where his priorities are.  At least we don't have to worry about girls quite yet.
