Oral Fixation

I really don't remember Hudson being like this.  Sure when he was teething he would gnaw on things but not like this.  This one always has to have something in her mouth. 

Except when she is smiling.

We call her mouth her pocket.  She will stick something in it and take off crawling.

The Zoo With Two

We've been to the zoo with one and today I tried two.  We made it a playdate and went with friends.  Two is definitely a handful and it's hard to think and have an adult conversation while yelling at kids to quit running ahead and bouncing a baby on one arm to keep her from crying.  All while sweating it out in 97 degree heat.  But it was nice to get out and the kids had fun.  We do what we can for our kids right?

One finger in the mouth and one in the nose.  Quite an accomplishment.

 There was a tiny little gorilla who was 1 year old (background on tree trunk).  It was so cute climbing on it's mama's back and holding on to her mama's leg.  Reminds me of someone else I know.

Missing the Hubby

This week we are all missing Daddy like crazy.  He is on a mission trip in Alaska for 10 days.  While I am super proud of him and the work he is doing, I am really missing him.  Especially as I am trying to wrangle crying over-sensitive Fin and super-slow Hud who is in a phase of not listening to anything I say (remind me why is it I'm wanting more kids?).  I must have had it in the back of my mind the last few months because all of a sudden it was time for him to leave.  We can't wait to hear about his trip and all of the work he is doing for God!

Swim Lessons

There were some tough times to get through.  He cried everyday except the last day and kept saying he didn't like it.  We pressed on and are so happy with the results.  Even this one:

This past week Hudson had his second year of swim lessons.  Last year I was 8 months pregnant and had to be in the water with him.  He really didn't learn that much.  Ok, I'm not really sure he learned anything at all.  This year we tried a different place and he was going into swim lessons afraid to put his face in the water.  Not good.

Now he is jumping in, diving down to get floats and swimming with his face in the water!  Who would have thought?
