Puzzle Night

We have gotten so super busy lately. Between work, new projects, the baby (who currently has his very first ear ache), chores. . .by the end of the day all we end up doing is collapsing on the couch and watching some tv. Usually bad tv. In an attempt to have some "us time" we have ruled Tuesdays no tv night. In the spirit of a couple of old folks, we are working on a puzzle (gosh that sounds even worse when its written down!). I know, kind geeky but I must say that's its fun and we kinda love it.

Nevermind that we have only worked on it... oh, twice in about a month and its still sprawled out across our kitchen table. And as our most favoritest tv show ever starts back this tuesday, we are going to have to relocate puzzle night. Casey keeps trying to get me to just put it up but i'm holding strong. We will finish the darn thing before the end of the year!

I've been slacking with my blogging. Even with taking pictures... I'm not sure I've even taken a picture of Hudson since Christmas! Sometimes I feel like I'm slacking in many areas of my life. Its so easy to get wrapped up in day to day events, dramas... life. I've been blogging with Jilly Moo's, working, and running around after the rugrat who is everywhere these days... and sick again by the way.

I started a Wendsday night women's bible study last week. We are studying Proverbs chapter 31 and discussing the characteristics of the noble wife. As women (and especially as mothers) we always feel like we have to do it all: keep and run the house, work, make dinner, entertain, run after kids, finding time to be with our friends and family, all while looking good doing it. Exhausting. We have been learning not to try to take so much on ourselves and know that what God wants us to be and what he has in store for us may not be as much as we often put on ourselves. We only need to take a deep breath and be obedient to him! Easier said than done, right?

Book Shelves

I have been keeping some of Hudson's most read books stuck down in the lower part of his nightstand. It began to overflow and books began to pile up in stacks in the floor which he would come and sling around the room. As a solution to that problem, Casey built a floating bookshelf for Hud's room. I found it at Martha Stewart Online and Casey kind-of adapted it to what we needed. Apparently it was pretty easy; he did it in a couple of hours. He already had the materials and free is much better than $120 at Pottery Barn! It turned out great!

 Nope, its the 9 1/2 month old-cutting two teeth-I love my mama -blues.

These days the Spudonator can most often be found clinging to my leg, crawling after me or wining for me to get him.

Stay At Home Mama

High-ho-high-ho its back to work I go.  I took the week off of work in between Christmas and New Years to stay at home and relax (or as hubby said to me about mid-week: "I thought you took this week off to get stuff done" me: "no, I took this week off to relax!").  I was a good wife: I even made dinner for him when I went out with one of my girl friends.  I told him "see, don't you like having a stay at home wife?" He didn't respond.  I take that as he likes being able to pay our house payment even more. Is it too much to ask to sit at home, watch reruns of Glee and read US weekly?  I for one don't think so.

Bundled up to take a walk around the neighborhood - we made it at far as the garage before it started raining.

Maybe he just wants me to stop finding projects for him to do.  Looking at our living room over flowing with toys I decided that we need to get on a playroom asap.

Baby Gate

I have been on the hunt for the perfect baby gate: it doesn't exist.  Many of you know what an overachieving project lover Casey is.  He has a friend who had a custom gate made (for mucho mullah).  He decided that he could make one himself.  I'm all for it.  I just sit back and watch.
