Hudson's Dedication

This Sunday we had Hudson's dedication at church.  It was a great ceremony that exceeded our expectations.  Cross Pointe did a great job and it was an awesome experience.
It was one of those occasions where we were in a rush to get dressed and get out the door and were so stressed about the day going right that I didn't even think to get very many pictures.  I wish I would have gotten some with Casey, Hudson and me and then some with our whole families.  Live and learn I guess.

The Zoo

Casey took the day off yesterday and we headed out to Zoo Atlanta.  I thought we would try to beat the crowds, let Hud skip his morning nap and get there early.  Hudson screamed and fussed the whole way down there so I was thinking 'oh no... here we go.  I'm going to be that mom with the screaming kid' (which wouldn't be the first time).  Once we got there, there was so much for him to look at, he was great.

The giraffes were Hudson's favorites!  He died laughing when he saw them.  Then he wanted to climb all over the statue of the giraffe.

Casey and I liked the gorillas the best.  They were HUGE and came up so close.  They just seemed so human.  This big guy walked up, plopped down, and sat there looking pouty the whole time.  At one point he crossed his arms and sat staring at everyone.  I could have stayed there and watched them for a long time.  I couldn't get over how big they were!  This picture doesn't do them justice.  They were seriously ginormous.

Looking at the orangutans.

Needless to say, not my favorite exhibit.

The petting zoo was the last thing we did and was Hudson's definite favorite thing.  This pig/hog/whatever jumped up whenever Hudson went to pet him.  Scared the bejesus out of me.  Hudson loves laying on top of Chloe and loving her so of course he loved all of these animals.  We had to try and keep him from laying his head on them.  The sheep's ear kept twitching and Hudson would crack up at it.

Hudson was exhausted and was konked out by the time we got on the interstate.

An Uncool Mom

A what age do you think your child decides that you aren't cool?  I think mine might be starting early.  Yesterday I was being a goof, dancing and singing to him.  He stared at me with his mouth hanging open, sighed, and looked away.  I think I embarrassed him.  I swear he would have rolled his eyes if he knew how to.

Ok, maybe I am uncool.  Casey made me do this.  We will say that Casey is the one that's uncool.  But we all knew that anyway.

The Inflatable Slide

Today we headed over to Family Fun Fay.  We were only there for a little bit because it was getting close to Hudson's nap time.  He loves the slide on our little neighborhood playground so much I thought he would enjoy going down one of those big inflatable slides.  "Adults" weren't allowed to go down them so Gabrielle took him down.  He was so not impressed.  Literally, his face had no expression the whole way down: no smile, no look of fear, nada.  So much for that idea.

After his nap we ran to the antique store to try and find some cool (aka: cheap) furniture that we could fix up ourselves.  We are crafty like that.  At least we are in our minds.  Anyway, no luck.  If anyone knows of a place we could check into, let me know!

Casey and i were dying laughing at this picture.  It looks like he is wearing a toupee and it has come loose and is about to fly off.

Easter

We had such a great Easter weekend.  You can't help but be in a good mood when it's 75 degrees outside.  Grilling out is practically a requirement when the weather is nice so Saturday we cooked out hot dogs.  It was Hud's first taste of one and he gobbled his up.

Sunday he woke up and got into his Easter basket goodies.  He especially loved his pinwheel.

We went to a wonderful church service at Cross Pointe and then to my grandmother's for lunch and an egg hunt.

I was honestly pretty worried about Hudson's behavior.  He was going to have to miss his afternoon nap to be over there so I thought he would be fussy and moody for sure.  Wrong.  He was fine and dandy... other than not being able to walk for the egg hunt.  He just held my hand and toddled along.  When he got to his first egg he just plopped down in the grass to play with it.  I had to keep dragging encouraging him to keep going.  I knew he was done when we got to a flowerpot with 3 eggs in it and he put them in his basket, then started taking all of his eggs out of his basket and putting them back in the flowerpot.

The boys going through their eggs.  AKA:  Hudson stealing Cole's basket.

The Park

Casey was out at a work thing all morning today so I decided to get off of my lazy bootie for once and get out and enjoy the beautiful weather at the park with Hud.  Let me just say, I don't know if I just have super low endurance from not running for a long time or if it was me pushing a 25 pound child in a 20 pound stroller (probably the former) but I only made it one lap around the park.
Ok I mostly walked but it was fast walking and there was some running involved.

Hud played on the playground and got to do his favorite thing: swing ('weeee' as he calls it).

He also played with the steering wheel.

Then we sat in the shade and blew bubbles.  He got bored and started picking and eating grass so I made an executive decision to take him home for nap time.
