Rated R

Warning!  This post contains some explicit photos!

That being said, this is how we found Hudson when he woke up from his nap yesterday afternoon...

Oh yes ladies and gents; he took his diaper off and through it in the floor.  Now I know why he sounded so happy over the monitor.
He will hate us years down the road.

Southern Flourish Summer 2010

It's magazine day!  In case I haven't bragged about it enough, here is one more:  Did I mention that Jill and I wrote and styled two articles for the new issue of Southern Flourish?  I did?  Oh.  It is so awesome to see my name in print even if they think I'm  from Nashville for some reason.  Oh well.  Check it out!

The magazine is all digital but you can buy a PDF version to keep or a coffee table book.  Part of me loves the immediate links to click on but part of me still wants a traditional magazine in my hands.  What do you think about online magazines?  Love 'em, hate 'em, or never heard of 'em?

Southern Flourish

Hi.  I'm a published fashion writer.  Yay me!  Jill (of Jilly Moo's fame) and I contributed two articles in Southern Flourish's Summer 2010 issue.

Southern Flourish is a fabulous up and coming digital southern lifestyle magazine that we were so excited to work for.  It's total eye candy and a must read.  Check us out June 15th.  Until then, here are a few teasers from the upcoming issue.  Enjoy!

The Love/Hate Relationship

I don't know why I haven't blogged about Chloe and Hudson yet.  Chloe was our "child" before we had Hudson so it was quite the rude awakening for her when someone new came along to take the attention from her.
She barely gets noticed these day.  I guess I can't blame her for her hatred of Hudson.  He crawls after her and lays on top of her, pulls her hair, slaps her face, and our good little dog doesn't bite, snap, or anything.  She just turns her head like she has smelled something bad and runs away.
I'm really not sure who I feel the most sorry for:  Hudson who loves Chloe so much and wants to follow her around and lay on top of her or Chloe who hates Hudson for steeling her thunder and pulling her hair.
It's a true love/hate relationship:  Hudson loves Chloe and Chloe hates Hudson.

Signs of Life

Our garden is showing signs of life!  Things are beginning to sprout.  We have squash, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers already coming up.  As a positive sign, Casey picked some cucumbers today that were ready.  Not spongy!  They tasted awesome.  Yay for good cucumbers!  Love summer gardens.

Trying the first pick from the garden....
Not feeling it.  Typical.  I can't hardly get him to eat a vegetable to save my life.

Panckes

One life lesson that I think is so true and I plan to teach Hud is that in life, there is always going to be someone who is better than you.  Maybe a little depressing and pessimistic but regardless, it's true.  Case and point:  I have been making Casey and Hudson banana pancakes (I get regular ones) some Saturdays.  They love them.  Now I don't claim to be any kind of fabulous pancake maker but we think they are good.
Then I see these pictures and feel completely inadequate.
Seriously???  Who does this guy think he is trying to make the rest of us look bad?

Waking Up

In the mornings when Hudson wakes up he is super happy.  Sometimes he will even let me sleep a little longer because he will just lay there and talk to himself.  Naps are another thing.  He usually wakes up crying and I get faces like this:
Just plain pitiful.
